I'm Melissa Officer, a portrait photographer based in beautiful Napa Valley, and I do things a little differently. A portrait experience with me begins with a phone consultation, followed by an in-person creative session where every detail—wardrobe, styling, theme, props, posing, and location—is thoughtfully planned.

Instead of sending you a folder of high-resolution digital files, I specialize in creating portrait artwork that will stand the test of time. So after your session I help you select your favorite portraits for printing, and I work with professional printers and framers to ensure your portraits meet my high standards for heirloom, archival quality. If you are local to Napa Valley, I will also have my team deliver and install your artwork complimentary.

Legacy portraits are the heart and soul of my studio, and my goal is for your portraits to become more than just pictures on a wall. I want them to hold a special place in your home, where they’ll be admired by friends and family, and where the little ones in your life will gaze at them with awe for years to come.
